I am a native Arkansan, from the capital city of Little Rock. I graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a Bachelors of Education degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Middle Grade Education.  After receiving my degree, I began my teaching career in the same district that I attended as a child. During my time spent teaching elementary students, I earned my endorsement in ESOL to ensure that all my students were academically successful. Seeking new ways to strengthen educators in mathematics, motivate minority students to achieve higher and empower parents, I worked with the Southeastern Consortium of Minorities in Engineering.  Later, I moved to Georgia where I continued teaching in the elementary setting before moving on to middle school. Pursuing new challenges, I went on to earn my Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University.

My philosophy of education is that all students have the ability to excel academically when their parents, teachers, and the community work together to establish high expectations.  As an educator, I am constantly seeking creative ways to foster a dynamic learning environment and to promote a lifetime of learning for students. As the world continues to grow more reliant on technology, I work to ensure that my students have a clear understanding of technology and its various uses that enhance the learning experience beyond the classroom.
