A Little About Ms. Collins

I was born and raised in South Florida. I moved to Georgia in June of 2018. I have two handsome sons and they are my WORLD! This is my 5th year teaching and my 2nd year at YMS.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University in 2013. In 2015, I earned my Master of Human Services degree with a specialization in Child Protection from Nova Southeastern University. Recently, in May of 2018, I earned my Master of Education degree in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in School Counseling. I currently hold my Georgia Department of Education certificate in School Counseling and Middle Grades Social Studies.

My mission is to promote each student's academic, personal, and social growth through the delivery of engaging lessons. I advocate and provide support to all of my students as they discover their own learning styles and abilities. I am a guide for students as they work through their educational accomplishments and challenges. Through innovative classroom lessons, I help instill self-understanding and a life-long love for learning as they begin their journey as responsible and knowledgeable citizens. My overarching objective is simple; ensure students reach their full potential.

I look forward to embarking on this educational journey with you. Let's make the 2019-2020 school year our best year yet!
