I am Nicole Kempson and I am so excited about being your Science Teacher. I am the mother of 2, a son (Justin) and daughter (Chloe). I am a native of Atlanta Georgia and graduated from the Atlanta Public School District. I am the oldest of 6. I graduated from Atlanta Metropolitan College with an Associate's Degree in Secondary Education and Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor's in Middle Grades Education , Master's in Instructional Technology and Specialist in Curriculum & Instruction. I am certified in Gifted Education, ESOL, and Online Teaching. I love working with children and I aim to inspire, create and motivate students to achieve greatness while thinking critically and being a better person than they were the day before.
I have worked with the Cobb County School District over 10 years as a parent, substitute teacher and educator. I was the 2017-2018 CCSD Teacher of the Year. I taught 6th Grade Earth Science at Lindley 6th Grade Academy for 8 years. During that time I held a few leadership roles, graduated from the CCSD Leadership Academy, worked as the webmaster and brought two dance clubs to the school.
I worked for Kennesaw State University as an Instructional Technology Coach. During this time I had the opportunity to assist teachers with implementing technology in their classroom, co-plan, co-teach and deliver professional learning.
This is my 6th year here at Yeager and I love the community I have built with my parents and students. Students, please make sure you are prepared daily when you come to class. Parents, I am available through phone or email. Be sure to check your child's agenda/book bag for correspondence from the school and your child's teacher. I look forward to working with you and your students and having a productive year.
